Attitude of Gratitude: Are You Ready to Shift to the Gratitude Lifestyle?

“She gets to go to the movie?”  a twelve year old girl wailed.  “How come I don’t get to go?  Just ‘cause she has a date!  I don’t get to do anything fun!  I never get to do anything!”

“Time for a gratitude list,” her mother declared.  “Write down twenty five things in your life you’re grateful for.”

“Twenty five!” the girl wailed.  “That’s like a million!  You’re torturing me!”

“Care to make it thirty?” Read more

Attitude of Gratitude: How to Use Affirmations to Build Your Spirit of Gratitude.

Jennie’s holistic nutrition business was thriving, but she found herself spending more and more hours being distracted by her worries.  “I’d be with a client and thinking about ten other things I needed to do.  I’d be trying to meditate, and instead be worrying about whether the check I was waiting for would come.” Read more

Attitude of Gratitude: Can Your Gratitude Engage The Law of Attraction?

Buddha said:  “Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so let us all be thankful.”

Universal Laws are the laws that govern the universe.  The most powerful of these is the Universal Law of Attraction, which teaches that “That which is like until itself is drawn,”  (Abraham –Hicks).  In other words, if your spirit dwells constantly in the negative – “Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I think I’ll go eat worms!” then you can reasonably expect some “big fat juicy” worms to show up on your doorstep in the near future. Attitude of Gratitude: Can You Change Your Life With Gratitude?

Let me tell you a story:

A very successful businessman had a meeting with his new son-in-law.

“I love my daughter, and now I welcome you into the family,” said the man. “To show you how much we care for you, I’m making you a 50-50 partner in my business. All you have to do is go to the factory every day and learn the operations.”

The son-in-law interrupted, “I hate factories. I can’t stand the noise.” Read more

Attitude of Gratitude: Are You Still Following the Corporate Rules of Gratitude?

I remember a client sharing with me once about her experience working in Corporate America.  “Since my last evaluation,” her boss wrote on her employee appraisal.  “The employee has reached rock bottom, and has started to dig.”  Another evaluation read:  “Has committed no major blunders today.  That we know of.”  And someone else’s read:  “Nephew of senior partner.   Stellar performance!”

Now, I don’t come from the corporate environment myself, but I do come from 8 years of teaching in the public school system, and I’ll tell you:  if you’ve ever worked in a corporate milieu — or any similar system, for that matter — and came through it unscathed, you should be given a special patch to wear on your clothes.   Maybe something like:  “I survived office politics.  Ask  to see my scars!” Read more

The Key to Success As Your Clients Are Making Decisions

Ram Dass said, “I would say that the thrust of my life has been initially about getting free, and then realizing that my free, and then realizing that my freedom is not independent of everybody else.  Then I am arriving at that circle where one works on oneself as a gift to other people so that one doesn’t create more suffering.  I help people as I work on myself and I work on myself to help people.” Read more

“Before the EnergyRICH® Boot Camp,”  Maggie wrote.  “Business was puttering along. I had no confidence when it came to selling. I was always cautious about sounding like a used car salesman. I was exhausted all the time and had no clear direction on how to market my business. Running a business was completely foreign to me. My clients were in charge, not me.” Read more

I had a client – we’ll call her Judi – who was making great strides in becoming an EnergyRICH© Entrepreneur.  Using role-playing, I coached her how to really effectively connect with potential clients when networking with great success.  But when it came to dealing directly with prospects in a networking context, she just froze.  The situation felt unnatural and full of pressure for her. I got two telemarketer calls the other evening.  The first one was the standard fare:  “Hi, my name is Brian, and I’m calling to tell you about the marvelous new program we have for homeowners in the area . . .”

Of course, I all I heard was, “blah blah blah.”  I disconnected as politely as possible and went about my business.  Not twenty minutes later, the phone rang again.  This time it was the new pizza place around the corner.  It was a very different experience. Read more
